چکیده

In this work, we attempt to study the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa-favored [Formula: see text] ("S" denoting the scalar meson) decays within the perturbative QCD approach at the leading order and the leading power. Although the light scalar mesons are widely perceived as primarily the four-quark bound states, in practice it is hard for us to make quantitative predictions based on the four-quark picture for light scalars. Hence, we calculate the decays with light scalars in the two-quark model. For the decays with scalar mesons above 1 GeV, we have explored two possible scenarios, depending on whether the light scalars are treated as the lowest lying [Formula: see text] states or four-quark particles. In total, we calculated the branching fractions of 72 decay modes, and most of them are in the range [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text], which are measurable in the on-going LHCb experiment and the forthcoming Belle-II experiment. Moreover, since in the standard model these decays occur only through tree operators and have no CP asymmetries, any deviation will be a signal of new physics beyond the standard model. Despite large uncertainties induced by nonperturbative parameters and corrections of high order and high power, our results and discussions will be useful for the on-going LHCb and the forthcoming Belle-II experiments.

Ckm Favored Semileptonic Decays of Heavy Hadrons at Zero Recoil Tung-mow Yan

We study the properties of Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) favored semileptonic decays of mesons and baryons containing a heavy quark at the point of no recoil. We rst use a diagrammatic analysis to rederive the result observed by earlier authors that at this kinematic point the B meson decays via b ! c transitions can only produce a D or D meson. The result is generalized to include photon emi...

Theory Review of Cp Violations in B Decays at Hadron Colliders

CP violations in B meson decays at hadron colliders are reviewed. In particular I examine: B − B̄ mixing and oscillations within Standard Model and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa picture for CP violations; B decays into CP eigenstates and the measurements of the angles in the unitarity triangle; finally I consider a class of charged B decays that allow to avoid uncertainties arising from the comp...

Semileptonic B Decays at BABAR∗

We present results on semileptonic B decays obtained with the BABAR detector. The large data set accumulated at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B-Factory allows a new measurement technique, where the hadronic decay of one B meson is fully reconstructed and the semileptonic decay of the recoiling B meson is studied. Traditional analysis techniques of inclusive and exclusive B decays complement this...

Bayesian estimate of the effect of BB̄ mixing measurements on the CKM matrix elements

A method employing Bayesian statistics is used to incorporate recent experimental results on B0dB̄ 0 d and B 0 s B̄ 0 s mixing into a measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements with small theoretical uncertainties. The neutral B meson mixing results yield a slight improvement in the estimate of |Vtd|. Prospects for improving the knowledge of the CKM matrix elements with measurem...
